Come see me in a Nordeast Art Show

I've been away from my blog and mosaics for the last few weeks while traveling in Israel and Jordan, but I'm back now and would like to mention an art show that I will be participating in.  Every year Studiopolis, an art collective up Nordeast in Minneapolis, hosts a show in which a color is selected and artists are invited to interpret that color however they like, this year the color (colors actually) is/are Black & White.

Anyone interested should come visit me, and the rest of the participants, at the reception on Friday, Feb 3rd, 2012, 7pm-10pm.  Click  http://studiopolisarts.weebly.com/events.html for the particulars.

Here's the piece I entered in the show.  I've been playing around with quotes lately, so considering the theme for this art show was "black and white," I thought this might be an appropriate entrant.  I, along with members of my family, attended the reception on Friday night, it was quite busy and a lot of fun.  Thanks to the folks at Studiopolis for the opportunity to hang a window on their wall for the weekend.

Jars and Flowers

I'd built up a small abundance of slumped jars, so I decided to use several on a window recently taken off the scrap heap at a home being remodeled in the neighborhood.  Pictures do not always do these mosaics justice, so sometimes I like to show two shots of the same piece, one with backlight only and one with room light as well, that's what you see below.
